What Is a DivorceCare Support Group?
When separation or divorce enters your life, it can feel like the ground beneath you has shifted. Everything familiar—your routines, your relationships, your sense of who you are—suddenly feels uncertain. At times, it may feel like no one understands what you’re going through, and you may not even recognize yourself anymore.
The loneliness can hit hard. And so can the anger, the fear, and the ache of being misunderstood. Some days, you might feel numb. Other days, completely overwhelmed.
You’re not alone in feeling this way. And you don’t have to go through it alone either.
DivorceCare support groups offer a safe, Christ-centered space where people facing separation or divorce can find real help and lasting hope. Week by week, you’ll meet others who have an idea of what you’re going through—and you’ll begin to feel steady again.
As Brian, a DivorceCare participant, shares, “I found people who actually understood—and didn’t judge me.”
How DivorceCare support groups work
DivorceCare meets weekly for 13 weeks—in person or online. It’s a place you can count on as you face the ups and downs of life after separation or divorce. Each meeting offers helpful tools, honest conversations, and steady encouragement from people who truly get what you’re going through. “I was devastated and unsure of everything,” shares Amanda. “DivorceCare helped me begin healing.”
Weekly sessions include:
- 30-min. video filled with guidance from counselors, pastors, and other healthcare professionals, plus real-life stories from people who’ve navigated separation and divorce
- Group discussion that allows space for questions, reflections, and connection. And you don’t have to speak if you don’t want to!
- Personal book full of helpful direction, tools for dealing with emotions and challenges, short articles, exercises, and biblical comfort
Each group is a place where you can express your thoughts, process your emotions, and find encouragement from people who truly get it. Again, there’s no pressure to talk—you can share as much or as little as you’d like.
